How to keep your flowers stay fresher longer

Care Instructions for Your Fresh & Preserved Flowers

Here are some tips to ensure they stay fresh and vibrant for as long as possible:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the flowers from their packaging. If they are wrapped in plastic, gently cut away the plastic without damaging the stems or petals.
  2. Trimming: Trim the stems at an angle about 1-2 inches from the bottom using sharp scissors or a knife. Cutting at an angle helps the flowers absorb water more effectively.
  3. Watering: Fill a clean vase with lukewarm water.
  4. Arranging: Arrange the flowers in the vase, ensuring there are no leaves below the waterline as they can rot and promote bacterial growth. Keep them in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight and drafts.
  5. Maintenance: Change the water every 2 days or whenever it appears cloudy. Re-trim the stems each time you change the water to maintain their ability to absorb nutrients.
  6. Enjoyment: Lastly, enjoy your flowers! They are a thoughtful gift meant to bring joy, and with proper care, they can brighten your space for days to come.

Care Instructions for Flowers Delivered in Oasis

  1. Placement: Place the arrangement in a cool location away from direct sunlight, drafts, and heat sources.
  2. Watering: Check the oasis daily and add water as needed. The oasis should always be moist but not soggy. Simply pour water gently onto the oasis until it absorbs enough water. Be careful not to overflow the container.
  3. Trimming: If necessary, trim any wilted leaves or stems. Use sharp scissors or a knife to make clean cuts.
  4. Maintenance: Every 2-3 days, pour out any remaining water from the container and add fresh water to the oasis. This helps to keep the flowers hydrated and extends their lifespan.
  5. Avoiding Dryness: Ensure the oasis remains hydrated at all times. If the oasis dries out, the flowers will not be able to absorb water properly, leading to wilting.
  6. Enjoyment: Lastly, enjoy your beautiful arrangement!

  • Avoid humid areas (bathrooms are not recommended)
  • Handle gently – petals & leaves are delicate

  • Lightly dust with a soft brush or cool air if needed

At Amore Petals &  Gifts, we are committed to delivering fresh, beautiful flowers with care and efficiency.

  • Delivery areas: We deliver in the area of North Brisbane. 
  • Delivery hours: Deliveries are made between 9:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Saturday.  Same day delivery orders must be placed by 10:00am. Deliveries made after this cut-off will occur the next business day.                                             
  • Delivery charges: Free delivery Redcliffe area. Fees vary by location and are calculated at checkout
  • Timing requests:  While we strive to accomodate specific delivery times, we cannot guarantee exact timing. For peak periods like Valentine's Day and Mothers Day, we recommend ordering at least 48 hours in advance to secure your delivery.
  • Unavailable recipients:  If the recipient is not available, flowers will be left in a safe, shaded location.       
  • Hospital deliveries:  For hospital deliveries, please provide the recipient's full name, room number and department (e.g.,maternity, ICU etc.). If delivery to the patient's room is restricted, flowers will be left with hospital staff or at the reception desk. Please note, some hospitals do not allow flower deliveries to certain areas, such as ICU wards.
